Extended Coronation Scene

Where is this Scene at?

In the Coronation Scene, right after the Emerald City is restored, all the Characters are standing around Dorothy and the Scarecrow on the Throne.

Description:

The Scarecrow turns, hesitantly, to Dorothy.

Scarecrow:  I don't know, Dorothy...

Dorothy:  What's the matter?

Scarecrow:  I was never meant to be King...  I have the brains for it, but not the heart...  Besides, the crown hurts my head and makes it difficult to think.

The applauding assemblage steps aside to make way for the band of heroes as they approach the trone ate the room's end.

Dorothy: Well, who is to rule if you don't?

Scarecrow:  Stay here and rule over us, Dorothy.

Dorothy:  Me?

Tin Woodman:  Yes!  Be the Queen of Oz!

Everyone:  Yes...Queen of Oz!  Dorothy!....Dorothy!

Dorothy waits until they grow quiet.  She is very touched and speaks softly.

Dorothy:  You're the best friends anyone's ever had.  But I have to go back.  Aunt Em and Uncle Henry are worring about me.

Billina:  And Toto.

Dorothy:  Oh! I'd forgotten about Toto.

Here eyes brim with tears.

Dorothy:   He believes  in Oz, so I can tell him all the things that have happened, and all the wonderful people I've met.

Jack:  We understand Dorothy

Dorothy:  Do you?  I wish I could be in both places at the same time.
