 Description 

After the Anchor Bay success on releasing Return to Oz Disney decided to cash in as well.  Extra material wise Disney did a half job by only including a few extra trailers as added material.  They did however include Dolby Digital Surround which the Anchor Bay release was missing.

 Synopsis 

This sequel to THE WIZARD OF OZ adheres to author L. Frank Baum's wonderful fantasy novels as Dorothy returns to Oz where she battles a powerful Gnome King and a vain witch. Helping her are a cute robot named Tik Tok, a gangly jack 'o' lantern, and a talking chicken. Some material may be frightening for very young children. Academy Award Nominations: Best Visual Effects.

 Comments 

The transfer of the film is only  fair ( as the Anchor Bay  release was) some cleaning up could have been done.  However the  major difference was the Dolby 5.1 surround, which sounds superb. They have included the same documentary "Fairuza Returns to Oz" and a few extra trailers for the film.  The really disappointing factor of this release  was the cover art, very juvenile looking and making Dorothy look like a Muppet.
